Behavior Consultation
Initial Consultation (2 hours)
For problem behaviors, you will want to schedule an initial consultation to begin the process. In this two hour appointment, you will meet with Dr. Willis and share the history of the problem, learn about what may be motivating your pets behavior and develop a concrete plan for behavior problem resolution. You will want to have your pet with you and also have some high and low value treats. You will practice exercises in the appointment that will help your pet begin to improve right away.
Included in an Initial Consultation:
- 2 hour appointment (Virtual or In-Person)
- Behavior Case Report summarizing the plan for improvement, including management and training strategies
- Written educational materials to help you understand your pet and their behavior problem
- Written exercises to practice to help your pet get better quickly
- Communication of training plan to your veterinarian
- OPTIONAL- Recording of our training session to refer back to as a reference
Follow-up Appointment (1 hour)
Once you have been practicing the training and applying the strategies from your initial consultation, you will want to schedule a Follow-up appintment. In this one hour appointment, you will discuss progress and practice new exercises to help your pet continue on the path to success. Your pet should be with you for this appointment and you should have treats on hand to be ready to practice training in the appointment. In this appointment, we will take the next steps towards resolution.
Included in a Follow-up Appointment:
- 1 Hour Appointment (Virtual or In-person)
- Written case update shared with you and your veterinarian
- Additional educational readings (if needed)
- Written exercises to extend your pet’s learning
- OPTIONAL- Recording of our training session to keep for reference
